Goldconn is a leading precision sheet metal manufacturer in China, engaged in professional precision sheet metal fabrication. We will use different materials for sheet metal processing according to the customer's requirements for sheet metal parts. So what materials are used for sheet metal processing?
Commonly used materials for sheet metal processing
1. Galvanized steel sheet (SECC)
The substrate of SECC is ordinary cold-rolled steel coil, which becomes electro-galvanized products after degreasing, pickling, electroplating and various post-treatment processes on the continuous electro-galvanizing production line. SECC not only has the mechanical properties and similar processability of general cold-rolled steel sheet, but also has superior corrosion resistance and decorative appearance. It is highly competitive and replaceable in the market of electronic products, home appliances and furniture. For example, SECC is commonly used in computer cases.
2. Ordinary cold rolled plate (SPCC)
SPCC refers to the continuous rolling of steel ingots through cold rolling mills into steel coils or sheets of required thickness. There is no protection on the surface of SPCC, and it is easily oxidized when exposed to the air, especially in a humid environment, the oxidation speed is accelerated, and dark red rust appears. The surface should be painted, electroplated or other protection when in use.
⒊ Hot-dip galvanized steel sheet (SGCC)
Hot-dip galvanized steel coil refers to the semi-finished product after hot-rolling and pickling or cold-rolling, which is cleaned and annealed, and then immersed in a molten zinc bath at a temperature of about 460°C, so that the steel sheet is coated with a zinc layer and then quenched and tempered It is made by leveling and chemical treatment. SGCC material is harder than SECC material, has poor ductility (avoid deep drawing design), thicker zinc layer, and poor electric weldability.
4. Stainless steel (SUS304)
One of the most widely used stainless steels. Because it contains Ni (nickel), it has better corrosion resistance and heat resistance than Cr (chromium) steel. It has very good mechanical properties, no heat treatment hardening, and no elasticity.
5. Stainless steel (SUS301)
The content of Cr (chromium) is lower than that of SUS304, and the corrosion resistance is poor. However, it can obtain good tensile force and hardness in stamping after cold working, and has good elasticity. It is mostly used for shrapnel springs and anti-EMI.
6. Aluminum alloy: AL5052, AL6061, AL1050, etc.
AL5052 aluminum plate is AL-Mg series alloy aluminum plate. Magnesium is the main alloying element in AL5052 alloy aluminum plate. It is the most widely used anti-rust aluminum. This alloy has high strength, especially fatigue resistance: plasticity and corrosion resistance High performance, cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, good plasticity during semi-cold work hardening, low plasticity during cold work hardening, good corrosion resistance, good weldability, poor machinability, and polishing. The main alloying elements in AL6061 alloy are magnesium and silicon, which have medium strength, good corrosion resistance, weldability and good oxidation effect. It is widely used in various industrial structural parts that require certain strength and high antimicrobial corrosion. AL1050 aluminum alloy is formed by adding a small amount of copper to bai pure aluminum. It has excellent forming and processing characteristics, high corrosion resistance, good weldability and electrical conductivity.
7. Copper alloy: C1100, C2680, etc.
C1100 has good electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance and processing properties. C2680 is a copper alloy with zinc as the main additive element. It has good ductility, stamping, electroplating, and corrosion resistance. It is mostly used in various complex cold-drawn, deep-drawn hardware, radiators, automotive connectors, terminals, Relays, buttons, handicrafts, battery shrapnel and other industries.

Many machine parts that are important for repair and replacement are the product of metal fabrication. The importance of metal fabrication in manufacturing and industry cannot be overstated. This process plays an essential role in manufacturing and is often the foundation and support for sheet metal
USB connectors were introduced in the mid-1990s and have since evolved in size, shape, and data and power transfer capabilities. Today, the latest physical standard is Type C. Many people refer to welding and metal fabrication as if they were two different words for the same process. While both processes require the use of metal, the terms are not interchangeable. Metal fabrication can be described as the process of making a product from metal. Welding is usually a part o
